We’re looking for a Business Analyst - Data to join our IT team.
Job Summary:
The Business Analyst - Data will play a critical role in leveraging data to drive business insights and optimize data processes across the organization. This position focuses on analyzing, designing, and enhancing data systems to support cross-functional teams, ensuring efficient data flow, and delivering actionable insights. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with strong data analysis and reporting development skills, capable of translating business needs into robust data solutions (reporting, cross application platforms). They will collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure data systems align with strategic objectives and support the organization’s next generation of products and initiatives. He/she is responsible for outlining detailed data architecture and design for review to be approval by the Enterprise Architect team.
What you will be responsible for:
- Analyze and Design Data Systems: Develop and maintain optimized data pipeline architectures to support business objectives, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Data Collection and Integration: Assemble large, complex datasets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements, integrating data from diverse sources.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements, including automation of manual processes, optimization of data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for scalability.
- Analytics and Insights: Create analytics tools and reports leveraging the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and key business performance metrics.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with Business, Development, and Design teams to address data-related technical challenges and support their data infrastructure needs.
- Data System Enhancement: Collaborate with data and analytics experts to improve the functionality and performance of data systems.
**The work experience, skills, education that you bring:**Education:
- A BSc/BA or Equivalent work experience
Skills/Experience:
- Experience Level: 5+ years in a Business Analyst or Data Engineer role with a focus on data systems and analytics.
- Data Expertise: Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases, query authoring, and familiarity with various database systems.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to perform root cause analysis on internal and external data/processes to answer business questions and identify improvement opportunities.
- Unstructured Data: Experience working with unstructured datasets and extracting actionable insights.
- Data Processes: Expertise in building processes for data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
- Big Data Technologies: Proficiency with tools such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, Spark and similar platforms.
- Database Systems: Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Blob Storage.
- Data Workflow Tools: Familiarity with data pipeline and workflow management tools like Azure Data Factory and Airflow.
- Data Aggregation: Experience creating and managing Data Marts from Data Lakes.
- Reporting and Visualization: Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI for data modeling, integration, and reporting.
- Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven solutions.
