About the role

We are currently seeking Health & Safety Coordinators to join our team in New Brunswick and Newfoundland.

ABOUT THE JOB

In this role you will collaborate with our Health & Safety Department and the management of the sites that you are responsible for and will report to the Health and Safety Manager. You will support the locations by implementing a comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety program. These roles can be based in one of our operational areas and to be finalized during interview process.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate would be safety oriented and forward-thinking with a passion for the industry. They would have:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Health & Safety Professional
  • Post-Secondary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Previous experience in aquaculture and/or manufacturing would be an asset
  • Working toward or completed the CRST(Canadian Registered Safety Technician) or CRSP(Canadian Registered Safety Professional) designation is considered an asset, not mandatory
  • Leadership and project management experience
  • Well-developed English verbal and written communication
  • Good computer and document management skills
  • Understanding of OHS administration including WorkSafe claims management
  • Thorough knowledge of OHS regulations and requirements as they relate to marine environments
  • Ability to effectively liaise with regulatory officials
  • Effective presentation and employee training skills
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn and participate in training opportunities
  • Ability to work well with employees across the organization in a team orientated environment
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in challenging weather and travel by boat to marine sites
  • Ability to operate a small vessel to and from marine sites when necessary
  • Marine related training certificates would be an asset
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada
  • Able to travel to all of our locations throughout Atlantic Canada
  • Regular travel within geograpical area
  • Driver's license and clean abstract
