Overview

We are looking for a skilled residential construction Site Supervisor to oversee our construction sites and ensure the successful completion of residential projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in residential construction and possess a strong understanding of building codes, construction practices, blueprint reading, scheduling, and site management. Additionally, effective communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential for this role. The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player who can effectively coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to achieve project milestones.

Key Responsibilities:

·Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on residential job sites in Calgary and surrounding areas.

·Monitor trade supplier’s adherence to construction schedules.

·Manage subcontractors on site and foster effective trade and supplier relationships.

·Responsible for ensuring sites are ready for the next scheduled trade, including cutting concrete, covering floors, scraping floors, straw placement and removal and stripping floors.

·Make phone calls, send emails/text messages to follow up with trades regarding timing for them to complete work on site.

·Prepare homes for and conduct walk through inspections.

·Hands on, physical work is an important part of the role.

·Maintain a high standard of quality and accountability by conducting inspections both procedural and municipal, throughout the construction process.

·Manage job specific schedules to ensure jobs comply with the associated build times.

·Thorough review of site and job package information.

·Perform ongoing hazard assessments and on-site quality control inspections throughout the construction of the home. Continually maintain a clean work site for trades, suppliers, homeowners and the community (including snow removal, keeping the sites clean for safe access).

·Perform deficiency repairs, assist with quality control inspections while having the ability to work efficiently and independently.

·Monitor site costs for damages, theft, and trip charges.

·Daily, collect and dispose of debris at construction site, placing it in appropriate designated places, while ensuring compliance with waste recycling programs.

·Efficiently complete all tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager.

·Ensure availability of temporary heat for outside & inside trades (cribbers, tile setters, tapers, etc.).

·Review, assess and report any issues on safety to Health & Safety Representative or Operations Manager.

·Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

•Minimum of 2 years experience in the construction industry preferable as a site assistant or equivalent.

•Strong communication skills (verbal & written).

•Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under time constraints.

•Industry related education is an asset.

•A valid driver’s license is required.

  • CSTS, First Aid with CPR and fall protection training would be an asset.

•Excellent relationship management skills to support interactions with customers, trade partners, suppliers, and internal staff.

•Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).

•Detailed oriented.

Working Conditions:

This is a field position and will require travel between designated job sites in and outside of Calgary. Work may require occasional weekends and/or evenings. Steel-toed safety boots and hard hat is required. Physical requirements related to this position included, but are not limited to, the ability to lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pull heavy amounts of weight, operate assigned equipment/vehicles.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
