There is a temporary part-time opening for a Translator Educational Assistant: Low German at Mornington Central Public School.
Hours of Work: 21hours per week, 10 months per year
Compensation Package Details:
Rate of Pay: $26.56 - $29.26 per hour plus 4% vacation pay as outlined in the OSSTF-ESSP Collective Agreement as of September 1, 2025.
Pension Plan: Defined pension plan through the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS)

Qualified candidates for the position of Translator Educational Assistant: Low German will be responsible for translation services. This position will involve working with students and their families who speak Low German as their first language. The successful candidate must be familiar with Mennonite culture and local communities. The translator must be able to support students in their first language in a variety of elementary courses/subjects, and will also provide outreach to the parent community. Qualified candidates will require proficient skills in listening, keep thorough tracking of outreach initiatives, as well as the ability to collaborate with school teams.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities may include:
- Provide Low German translation services for students and families in the Mornington school community
- Demonstrated ability to work positively and cooperatively as part of a school team;
- Other duties as assigned.
