About the role

The Technical Procurement and Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement and supply chain process, including sourcing, ordering, logistics, and inventory control. This role ensures the timely acquisition and delivery of materials and equipment required for project installations, aligning closely with project timelines and operational deadlines. The Specialist plays a critical role in supporting seamless execution of technical projects through efficient supply chain coordination and vendor management. Status updates and regular structured communication on same to the key internal stakeholders is a critical function of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate suppliers of goods and services to meet project-specific needs.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors, including pricing, delivery timelines, product quality, and service expectations.
  • Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, including Branch Managers, to coordinate product delivery and resolve issues.
  • Create and manage purchase orders based on demand forecasts and project requirements.
  • Review supplier invoices to verify accuracy, pricing, and alignment with goods received.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure continuous flow of goods to avoid stockouts or overstocking.
  • Oversee procurement functions related to inventory control, vendor selection, delivery tracking, and pricing updates.
  • Work closely with the projects team to align procurement activities with upcoming project timelines and material needs.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting related to procurement and logistics.
  • Manage domestic and international freight quotes and shipments, ensuring cost-effective and timely transportation of goods.
  • Oversee freight deliveries from critical internal Gunnebo vendor partners working with customs officials to ensure full regulatory compliance.
  • Review courier and carrier service implementations to verify service quality and adherence to contract terms.
  • Improve freight management, vendor routing, and carrier efficiency through process optimization.
  • Maintain and improve departmental processes to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
  • Support demand forecasting to drive smarter procurement decisions aligned with operational needs.
  • Communicate status and estimate time of arrival status on critical parts through sharing of formal system open vendor PO reports

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience is required
  • Additional certification in the field of procurement is preferred
  • Experience purchasing materials and products for installation projects
  • Experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Strong knowledge of the industry and market conditions
  • Intermediate computer skills (particularly EXCEL)
  • Flexible and adaptable to a changing environment
  • Impeccable problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Must be detailed oriented, analytical and accurate
