Position Overview:
We’re looking for a Junior Video Editor & Content Creator with a passion for social-first storytelling , video editing, and content design. You’ll create dynamic short-form and long-form video content for a variety of clients, helping brands connect with audiences across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and beyond. You should thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a strong eye for motion and design, and be up to date with the latest social trends, editing tools, and formats.
This is a 6-month contract position with potential for extension.
Responsibilities:
- Edit engaging short-form and long-form video content optimized for social media (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube, etc.).
- Collaborate with the Creative Director and content team to brainstorm and execute creative concepts that align with brand goals and platform trends.
- Create motion graphics, text animations, and transitions to enhance storytelling and polish.
- Adapt footage for different formats and aspect ratios while maintaining quality and brand consistency.
- Stay current with platform updates, trends, and tools (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, etc.).
- Help develop content calendars and brainstorm concepts that integrate seamlessly with wider campaign strategies.
- Manage multiple projects and quick turnarounds while maintaining a high level of creativity and execution.
- Occasionally support with static content, thumbnails, and other visual assets.
Requirements:
- 3- or 4-year degree/diploma in Graphic Design, Film, Media Production, or a related field.
- Proficiency in video editing software (Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, or similar).
- Strong grasp of social media platforms, video trends, and platform-specific best practices.
- Portfolio showcasing a mix of short-form, long-form, and social-first content.
- Basic design and layout skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Interest in motion design and animated content.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving, creative team.
- Strong attention to detail, visual storytelling, and pacing.
- Own computer capable of running relevant editing/design software.
Bonus Points For:
- Experience with audio editing, colour grading, or camera work.
- Familiarity with AI-driven content tools or automation for editing workflows.
- Interest in emerging formats like vertical video podcasts or live social content.
