About the role

Opportunity

Are you passionate about solving business problems and driven to improve processes through data and collaboration? If so, Millennium Insurance is seeking a motivated and analytical Business Analyst to join their dynamic team.

Reporting to the Director of Personal Lines, the Business Analyst will play a key role in supporting the development and enhancement of our insurance products and services. The successful candidate will work closely with subject matter experts to improve operational efficiency and customer service. This role involves day-to-day collaboration with business users, the software development team, and IT to ensure solutions align with business needs.

What you will be doing

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, evaluate, and document business requirements related to insurance products and processes.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to model as-is business processes and guide the charge in optimizing and innovating future business processes.
  • Assist in the development of business strategies and solutions to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Developing solutions with low-code/no-code technologies.
  • Translate business requirements into functional requirements for IT teams
  • Support the creation of business cases, cost-benefit analysis and implementation plans as required
  • Conduct data evaluation to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process optimization.
  • Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure that solutions meet business requirements.
  • Assist in the creation and management of project plans, timelines, and documentation.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance and competitiveness.

What you bring to the team

  • Professional certification or diploma in Business Analysis required with a minimum of two (2) years of business analysis experience, preferably in insurance or financial services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex ideas and train users who are not comfortable with technology.
  • Knowledge of product life-cycle management.
  • Experience with training material development and change management experience
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple cooperating priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with complex data sets.
  • Experience in business process modeling.
  • Working with tools such as Visio, Miro and other modeling tools is considered an asset.
  • Basic coding experience or working with low-code/no-code apps is considered an asset.
  • Strong desire and commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other methodical tools.
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience with SQL is considered an asset.

Effective communication and documentation of work are key, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently. Being outcome focused will be a key attribute of the role with the ability to influence critical thinking across the organization. Finally, the successful candidate should energetically participate in problem-solving and proposing solutions to address business challenges.
