As the Health & Safety Manager, you won’t just be ticking boxes—you’ll be the strategic force behind initiatives that prevent accidents, foster wellness, and ensure regulatory compliance in a complex, fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Champion our Occupational Health & Safety Management System and bring it to life across departments.
  • Proactively assess risk, conduct investigations, and roll out prevention strategies that work.
  • Spearhead site inspections, industry-specific safety programs, and emergency preparedness drills.
  • Serve as our direct liaison with WorkSafe BC, Fraser Health, and external advisors.
  • Maintain our safety systems, SOPs, MSDS sheets, and training records like a pro.
  • Keep safety portals up-to-date, coordinate bulletin communications, and support audits.
  • Transform data into insight—drive safety strategy with real performance metrics.
  • Take the reins on claims management and return-to-work programs.
  • Oversee our First Aid Attendants program, ensuring 24/7 readiness with training and inventory in check.
  • Lead safety orientation for all new hires and contractors.
  • Deliver targeted safety training and promote a culture of wellness and compliance.
  • Provide the tools, resources, and mindset employees need to make safety second nature.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Occupational Health and Safety Diploma
  • Deep knowledge of WorkSafe BC regulations and safety legislation
  • Core Certification experience required
  • Certification in Train-the-Trainer preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety data systems
  • exceptional communication, organizational, and coaching skills
  • Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and inspire trust
  • A proactive, collaborative, safety-first approach with a passion for people
  • COR Auditing certificate would be an asset
  • CHSC designation would be an asset
  • CRSP designation would be an asset
  • Safety Certification would be an asset
