About the role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Brand and Content, the Digital Media & Content Manager develops and executes digital media strategies, managing content across platforms to enhance the REDBLACKS and Ottawa 67’s online presence. This role requires strong leadership, collaboration, and creativity to drive fan engagement and brand growth. The impact is seen in increased fan interaction and alignment with marketing and sponsorship goals. Attention to detail, adaptability, and a passion for sports are key to success.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide social media coverage at trainings, game days, and community events for the Ottawa REDBLACKS, shaping their social media voice.
  • Develop and execute a digital media and content strategy for the REDBLACKS, while supporting the creation of the content strategy for the 67’s to align with OSEG’s marketing goals. Set clear objectives for content creation, distribution, and audience engagement.
  • Lead and mentor a team of content creators to foster collaboration and productivity. Guide them in producing high-quality, innovative content that resonates with our diverse fan base.
  • Oversee the creation of engaging, relevant, and timely content across digital platforms including social media, websites, and email. Ensure content consistency and brand alignment.
  • Implement initiatives to expand OSEG’s follower base and enhance brand presence across Ottawa, CFL, and OHL. Collaborate with marketing, PR, and community relations for unified brand messaging.
  • Work closely with the sponsorship team to seamlessly integrate partner content. Serve as the content liaison to CFL and OHL Leagues.
  • Regularly analyze and report on digital campaign performance. Use insights to inform decisions and enhance engagement strategies. Stay updated on digital media trends for competitive advantage.
  • Ensure marketing activations and promotions comply with internal and OSEG guidelines, maintaining brand standards.

What you need:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience, preferably in a sports organization.
  • Proven experience managing social media channels for multiple brands.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Photoshop and Premiere.
  • Knowledge of analytics software, content management systems, and SEO tools.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to lead brainstorming sessions.
  • Innovative thinker with a creative mindset that challenges the status quo.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks with keen attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience with social media advertising and paid campaigns.
  • Expert knowledge of Football, particularly the Canadian Football League.
  • Experience in video production, photography, and graphic design.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
