About the Position
The Financial Analyst reports to the Director of Finance and will assist the organization in attaining its
goals and objectives by providing detailed financial and statistical analysis. Additionally, the Financial
Analyst will work with the finance team to achieve and maintain effective financial management, control
and planning throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:

Conduct ad hoc data collection, benchmarking, analysis, and reporting

Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reconciliations
-
Assist with the external audit and preparation of year-end audit working papers
-
Assist with the budget process, including input of annual budgets
-
Assist with timely reporting to the Ministry, LHIN and other external stakeholders
-
Prepare month end financial and statistical journal entries with appropriate backup and analysis
-
Perform reconciliations and resolve data discrepancies
-
Provide support to Payroll, managers and multi-disciplinary teams/committees, including project
teams
- Other duties as required
Education, Qualifications & Skills:
-
Post-Secondary degree/diploma in Business Administration or Accounting
-
Three to five years’ experience in preparing budgets, analyzing financial and related statistical data
to identify trends, relationships and opportunities-ideally within the public healthcare sector

Advanced computer and information systems skills including Excel
-
Ability to work with large amounts of data to produce accurate, timely, concise readable reports in
a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
-
Ability to work both independently and within a team setting
-
Preference will be given to candidates having experience with MIS/OHRS guidelines and Ministry
reporting
Hours of Work: Weekdays – 8:30-4:30

General Hospital continues to be a full service 120-bed hospital with round the clock on-call coverage of
Specialists in Surgery, Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, and Obstetrics, as well as on-site 24 hour per day
medical coverage.
Situated in Norfolk County (Ontario’s South Coast), Simcoe is not far from Lake Erie and the 88 miles of
shoreline that includes long stretches of sandy beach.
