Join Our Team at Cold Lake Healthcare Centre as a Licensed Practical Nurse and explore the natural beauty of Alberta while making a meaningful impact as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at this rural hospital with acute care having 24 active inpatient beds. In this role, you’ll work to the full scope of your practice within a multidisciplinary team, delivering patient and family-centered care while utilizing evidence-based practices. This is a rural hospital so your care will be provided to a variety of clients that could be dealing with urgent care needs, post-surgical recovery, pediatrics, maternity and the facility also has a Stoke Centre. Your strong organizational and critical thinking skills will be used daily as you provide wholistic care to the clients. We are looking for someone who is a strong problem solver and decision maker to assess, plan and evaluate care interventions. You believe in engaging patients and families in their care, promoting the clients’ health while delivering safe, quality care and modeling Alberta Health Services values. You will benefit from the training to work with all areas of the hospital and a supportive team environment, including but not limited to clinics, emergency, and acute care. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
At least two (2) years of experience within the last five (5) years in a medical/surgical unit, emergency department, day surgery unit, or critical care unit.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Preference will be given to those who have day surgery experience.
