Key Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mill. The Role

Reporting to the Training Coordinator, you will be responsible to develop new and update existing training programs by utilizing Cameco’s Systematic Approach to Training (SAT). You will consult with key stakeholders to develop this training curriculum and deliver on plans to meet the operation’s needs. Using adult learning principles, you will deliver practical and classroom training programs to site personnel. This will include, but not limited to, demonstrating surface mobile equipment skills to trainees.

This is a temporary position with an expected duration of 6 months, with a possibility of an extension**.**

In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for the delivery of safety-related training to site personnel through a variety of methods, providing coaching and feedback, evaluating on-the-job performance while identifying training gaps, and providing general support to the training team as required.

  • Maintain good communication and co-operation with various sites, departments and stakeholders to ensure regulatory training requirements and operational goals are achieved.

  • Support Cameco’s Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) through various administrative functions.

  • Assist with the maintenance of Cameco’s Learning Management System (LMS).

  • Continuously identify opportunities for improvement.

Required:

  • Diploma in a related field.

  • Minimum four years of relevant underground and surface equipment work experience.

  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.

  • Strong organization, presentation and communication skills are essential.

  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of computer programs (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Willing to work a 14-day rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.

Recommended:

  • Previous industrial work experience.

  • Certified operator of multiple types of equipment.

  • De-icing, rigging or crane operator experience.

  • Understand all aspects of the Systematic Approach to Training and be able to perform these functions.

  • Determine training requirements and develop and implement training requests.

  • Contribute to the development of training materials.

  • Experience in SAP.
