About the role

Platform Engineer

Location: Toronto - Downtown | Remote 40% in office

Reporting to: Director, Infrastructure

Our financial services client is growing again and looking for a Platform Enginee r to help design, build, and optimize our core infrastructure in support of a wide range of new technology initiatives .

While there is support required, this is primarily a projects ro le — we need a proactive systems thinker who ca n lead infrastructure projects end-to-e nd, design scalable and secure environments, and ensure our platforms are resilient, performant, and audit-ready.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement infrastructure solutions across the full stack (compute, network, storage, security)
  • Lead systems projects: identify cross-functional dependencies, architect solutions, and drive execution
  • Own platform performance, reliability, and compliance (e.g., SOC 2 readiness)
  • Automate processes and streamline configuration using tools like Puppet, VMWare, and Splunk
  • Manage a mixed estate of primarily Linux but some Windows servers, network devices, and middleware
  • Collaborate with software, security, and operations teams to support platform needs

What You Bring

  • 7+ years in infrastructure engineering, with experience leading systems design, architecture or platform projects
  • Deep Linux expertise and strong knowledge of internet protocols, networking, and systems security
  • Experience in regulated environments (SOC2, ISO27001, etc.)
  • Strong scripting, automation, and monitoring skills using various tools and technologies
  • Excellent communication, ownership mindset, and ability to work across teams
