Job Description
Maple Ridge Lighting is a well established lighting showroom offering a complete selection of lighting fixtures, fans, and lamps from the finest signature brands. We are currently seeking a Part Time Lighting Consultant/Sales professional who has the unique ability to not only generate sales but to create a memorable, personal shopping experience for our clientele.
This position includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks:
- Establish the customer's product needs by asking relevant questions
- Assist customers with product selections by providing accurate product information and price quotes.
- Learn about product lines and lighting technology to develop a thorough understanding.
- Receive and respond to incoming calls from customers, representatives, distributors and contractors by answering their questions or directing the call to the appropriate party.
- Order lighting products and accessories for your clients and manage the workflow.
- Stock inventory accurately and efficiently and assist in maintaining showroom displays according to store guidelines.
Requirements:
- 1 year retail sales background.
- Strong customer service skills including conflict resolution and trouble-shooting.
- Computer literacy with accurate data entry skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and phone communication skills.
- Self-motivated to sell with a genuine interest in learning about the lighting industry including brands and specific product lines.
- Attention to detail, a must, with an eye for error and process improvement.
- Ability to work independently, yet work cooperatively as a member of a team as well.
- Ability to understand technical information and installation requirements.
- Solid time management skills with the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
Desired Skills:
- Creative interest in home décor and home improvement.
- Experience in the Lighting Industry.
This is a part-time position. You will be paid an hourly wage and commission on sales. You will be required to work Saturday 10:00AM to 5:30PM and Monday 9:00AM to 5:30PM, with possibly another additional day, through the week. There will also be vacation relief shifts.
