Position Summary
Thales Canada Defence & Security (TCDS) is looking for a Manager, Cybersecurity. The Manager of Cybersecurity is the Head of Discipline (HoD) responsible for Cybersecurity across the organization. They are also the Resource Manager for the Cybersecurity team.
As the Manager of Cybersecurity you will be managing a new and distributed team of cyber specialists, addressing new and evolving cybersecurity requirements. You will ensure that TCDS Bids, Projects and Products execute in accordance with Thales Cybersecurity requirements. They are also responsible for ensuring that Cybersecurity is applied across other Engineering and non-Engineering disciplines.
The Manager of Cybersecurity reports to the Director of Engineering.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The main responsibilities are:
As a Resource Manager:
- Provides appropriate resources to deliver bids, projects and products.
- Plans the team’s workload in the short, medium and long term.
- Develops team skills to support bids, projects and products.
- Supports recruitment, onboarding, performance management, career management and succession planning for the team.
- Coaches, mentors and develops the team. Leads the team to meet company expectations for productivity, chargeability, quality, continuous improvement and accomplishment of objectives.
- Ensures that company policies and procedures are followed, including timesheets, time off, and travel.
As a Head of Discipline:
- Responsible for the establishment, standardization and evolution of processes, procedures and tooling for the discipline and sub-disciplines.
- Ensures that the discipline and sub-discipline processes, procedures and tooling meet the current and future needs of the bids, projects and products.
- Responsible for development of lessons learned and the sharing of knowledge and experience across the discipline and sub-disciplines.
- Responsible for bid, project and product estimates for the discipline and sub-disciplines.
As Manager of Cybersecurity:
- Ensures that TCDS Bids, Projects and Products execute in accordance with Thales Cybersecurity requirements.
- Ensures that Cybersecurity is applied across other Engineering and non-Engineering disciplines.
As a member of the Cybersecurity team:
- Responsible for performing Cybersecurity work on bids, projects and products.
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- College or university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the last 10 years leading a Cybersecurity team.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the last 10 years of responsibility for Cybersecurity functions Expertise in at least one Cybersecurity tool like Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools, Vulnerability Management Tools, Endpoint Protection Platforms, Firewall and Intrusion.
- Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), Identity and Access Management (IAM) Solutions, Encryption Tools, Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Solutions, Threat Intelligence Platforms, Forensic Tools, Network Security Monitoring Tools, and Penetration Testing Tools Expertise in at least one Cybersecurity standard such as ISO/IEC 27001 and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a people or resource manager. A minimum of 3 years of experience managing a budget.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing an Engineering Discipline, including responsibility for associated policies and procedures. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

The reference Total Target Compensation(TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between
Total Target Cash (TTC): 113,768.63 - 151,691.50 - 239,870.23 CAD Annual
