705 Training Manager - Dash 8 Simulator Training

Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Pilot, the 705 Training Manager is responsible for all training regarding 705 aircraft. Manages the simulator training program and facilitate aircraft training within the Training Department.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Ensure consistency among standard policies and procedures pertaining to flight training and ensure that these policies and procedures are aligned with the training programs and manuals
- Maintain and supervise the initial and recurrent pilot training program which includes the initial/recurrent ground and simulator program
- Maintain ongoing development of simulator training program.
- Assist the Chief Pilot with the development and maintenance of Flight Crew Training Manual and standard operating procedures
- Oversee and conduct simulator training
- Ensure that adequate training records are maintained for each pilot in the Company’s employee file as outlined in the Flight Crew Training Manual
- Maintain ongoing program of training development in such areas as CRM, advanced navigation and onboard systems, computer enhanced training aids for ground school and enhanced initial and recurrent training aids
- Manage, coach, develop and mentor in coordination with the Chief Pilot: Training Pilots, Ground School Instructors and CRM facilitators in the day to day performance of their duties
- Promote and maintain effective team and employee morale
- Actively participate in Perimeter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
- Available to fly as operationally required within the scope of Flight and Duty regulatory requirements including office duties
- Approved Check Pilot (ACP)
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
- Hold a valid Airline Transport Pilot License with a valid Group 1 Instrument Rating
- Hold a type rating for the types of aeroplanes on which training will be given
- Have at least three years’ experience in PIC of 705 aeroplane
- Be qualified for line flying on the type of aeroplane
- Be qualified in accordance with the Company’s training program as PIC on one of the types operated; and demonstrate knowledge with respect to the content of the Company’s Operations Manual, Flight Crew Training Manual, Standard Operating Procedures, and the provisions of the regulations and standards necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
Working Conditions
- Physically able to perform all listed job duties
- Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and telephone
- Schedule based on training requirements and simulator availability
- Able to attend and conduct presentations
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
