Lead a talented team that delivers the insight behind the province’s most critical decisions.

As the Director, Reporting, Research and Evaluation, you will lead a high-performing team within the Modernization, IMT and Research (MIR) Branch of Alberta Justice, a branch dedicated to enabling evidence-informed decision-making across the ministry. This position plays a critical role in supporting Alberta’s commitment to public accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement in the justice system.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, you will oversee the ministry’s data and evaluation strategy, driving the collection, analysis, and application of high quality, reliable information to inform strategic planning, policy development, service delivery, and resource allocation. The role encompasses oversight of department wide research initiatives, evaluation frameworks, statistical reporting, and data governance, all of which contribute to enhancing the effectiveness and innovation of Alberta’s justice programs.

You will collaborate with senior leadership, other ministries, police agencies, academic institutions, and federal partners to ensure research and analytics are timely, relevant, and aligned with organizational priorities. By leading a team of professional staff and managing complex, cross-functional initiatives, you will help shape a forward-thinking, data-driven culture across the justice sector.
