Job Responsibilities:
- Follow the Tzu Chi Bilingual/Character Education curriculum and design lesson plans and activities for children aged 3-5.
- Integrate the principles of Tzu Chi’s education philosophy into daily lessons.
- Teach children values such as compassion, gratitude, and respect for nature.
- Responsible for working with bilingual teachers to implement Tzu Chi Bilingual/Character Education and Humanity Program.
- Monitor and supervise children at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
- Establish proper and professional communication with colleagues and parents.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care.
- Compliance with Tzu Chi dress code policy.
- Responsible for classroom decoration and setting for a better learning environment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Follow all licensing procedures and health and safety guidelines.
- Maintain the confidentiality and accuracy of children’s information.
- Collaborate with families to support the needs and development of each child.
- Participate in regular staff meetings and training sessions.
Job Requirements:
- Eligible to work in Canada
- A valid ECE (Early Childhood Educator) certificate
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate
- An up-to-date immunization record
- Minimum 3 year working experience in the field
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude and passionate working with preschool children
- Basic knowledge of Tzu Chi’s background and principles, or a willingness to learn.
- Agreement with and commitment to teaching according to Tzu Chi’s education philosophy.
- Fluent in English, having knowledge of Mandarin or French is an asset
- Patient, compassionate, and adaptable personality.
Summary
As an Early Childhood Teacher / on-call ECEA, you will be instrumental in fostering a nurturing and educational environment for young children. Reporting to the lead educator, your role involves utilizing your core skills in early childhood education and communication to engage with children effectively. Your bilingual abilities in English and French will enhance interactions with diverse families. With a focus on special education and childcare, you will support the developmental needs of all children, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning experience. Your organizational and leadership skills will be vital in maintaining a structured classroom atmosphere.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $22.00-$31.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
