This position is based out of Dentalcorp's Toronto Support Centre located at 181 Bay St. Mondays to Thursdays and Fridays are work from home. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, influencing skills and a deep understanding of regulatory requirements in the healthcare or dental field.
In this role, you will
-
Provide leadership and guidance to the Senior Leadership Team, your team and key stakeholders in the application of patient safety, quality improvement and risk management principles and practices to support both strategic and operational business plans.

Track and analyze risk management data and performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities and raise issues of serious concerns or risks to senior leadership.

Prepare and present regular reports to leadership and stakeholders (including the Board of Directors) on quality metrics, organizational compliance, emerging trends/risks and improvement initiatives.

Work with the DC Institute team to develop and disseminate training and education at a network wide and individual level to increase quality of oral health care.

Review and investigate safety incidents, adverse events, and patient complaints ensuring due diligence in the investigation and follow up with stakeholders.

Lead retrospective (e.g. Root Cause Analysis, Incident Debriefs) and/or prospective reviews (e.g. Failure Modes Effect Analysis) necessitated by safety events, critical incidents or process issues related to safety, risk and quality improvement.

Report to the Risk Committee or Board as required on risk and incident trends.

Function at all levels of the organization, across all departments and interact with senior leaders, VPs, clinical directors, departmental leaders and dentists.
What we’re looking for
-
Proven leadership experience (5+ years) in progressively more responsible patient safety, quality of care improvement and/or risk management roles within the healthcare field.

Bachelor's degree in a health or dental-related discipline, health administration, or a related field. A master's degree is well considered.

Knowledge and expertise in Quality Management, Performance Improvement, Patient Safety, and Risk Management principles.

Ideally, bilingualism in French, knowledge of sedation standards, radiation standards, and familiarity with electronic health records or dental practice management software will be considered an asset.

Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and trends and communicate insights and advice clearly to different stakeholders.

An early adopter of technology who understands the benefits of using artificial intelligence.
