Calgary Housing (CH) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The City of Calgary. CH is a purpose-driven social enterprise and the largest housing operator in Calgary, providing safe and affordable housing to more than 27,000 Calgarians. As a Quality Assurance Analyst, you will support the Calgary Housing managed technology environment and provide quality assurance on technology environment changes. Your role is key to ensuring the smooth functioning of the technology environment for Calgary Housing. Primary duties include:
- Assist staff in recording, verifying, troubleshooting and resolving the system and data related defects in CH managed production or live systems.
- Conduct root cause analysis to find the sources of defects and help establish the severity and priority of reported defects.
- Coordinate the resolution of defects and/or conflicts. Create and maintain a repository of known product/system defects.
- Facilitate, prepare, develop and maintain test cases to evaluate system changes. Conduct and/or coordinate test case execution.
- Create an overall testing strategy for changes to the technology environment.
- Gather and analyze requirements for the Test Plan and obtain buy-in for the plan with the project team.
- Order, redeploy, and return hardware for CH staff. Order new hardware and return hardware for disposal.
Qualifications
- A completed 2 year diploma in Computer Information Systems or related field and at least 3 years of related experience in quality assurance, software testing or application support, OR;
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least 1 year of related experience in quality assurance, software testing or application support.
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software such as Yardi is preferred.
- Experience providing technical support on an ERP and experience providing quality assurance on an ERP enhancement during a project lifecycle will be considered an asset.
- Strong customer service, problem-solving and analytical skills combined with a high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with a variety of partners and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple changing and competing priorities.
Pre-employment Requirements
- A security clearance will be conducted.
- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.
Workstyle: This position may be eligible to work from home as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. Such arrangements are based on the operational requirements of the position and employee suitability and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.
