POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sales Representative is responsible for ensuring that Wasaya Airways LP customers receive a service that is friendly, reliable, and efficient and to provide guidance for our front-line services.
The Sales Representative will prospect new accounts to expand Wasaya’s customer base and be responsible for the overall ownership and accountability of the day-to-day relationship with their designated client(s).
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the prospecting of new opportunities for Passenger, Charter, and Cargo Clients
- Prepare customer quotes and book charters.
- Follow up with customers regarding quotes and bookings as required.
- Arrange and attend meetings with various organizations, clients, and potential clients.
- Work very closely and collaborate with relevant departments and employees, regarding charters.
- Offer exceptional customer service and ensure that customer needs are always met.
- Maintain accurate records of sales and customer service information within the client databases as required.
- Provide clerical and administrative assistance to Charter Sales staff as necessary.
- Work closely with the Marketing department for promotions and sales
- Maintain and keep up to date files on aviation regulations.
- Participate in corporate marketing activities, such as conferences, home and trade shows and open house events as required.
- Assist in the preparation of customized itineraries to suit the client’s needs and budget.
- Strive to obtain the best route possible to help customers stretch their travel dollars.
- Meet and exceed sales revenue targets for new business and renewals.
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within the account base.
- Build strong relationships with key decision makers throughout all departments of the client.
- Be able to complete sales cycles including the preparation of proposals, sales presentations, and service delivery.
- Provide detailed account information on both prospects and customers by using CRM tools and managing a sales pipeline for accurate forecasting of revenue.
- Establish and maintain regular contact with corporate clients and government agencies and other business partners regarding air services while ensuring professional quality customer service.
- Foster a healthy working environment and promote a positive climate within the workplace.
- Perform and uphold Wasaya’s Customer Care Commitments to both internal and external customers.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of previous salesexperience or an equivalent combination of related post-secondary education and experience
- Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of the region serviced by Wasaya’s scheduled service.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer skills, MS-Office preferable, proficient in use of internet and email
- Able to work in a team environment, as well as unsupervised.
- Able to maintain accurate records and uphold customer confidentiality.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Able to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
- Previous airline experience is an asset.
- The ability to communicate in Oji-Cree or Ojibway is an asset.
- Previous airline experience is an asset.
- Experience with and/or knowledge of First Nations Organizations is an asset.
Working Conditions
- Occasional travel is required.
- Weekend and evening work is required.
- This position is 4 days on 4 days off
- On call

- Ability to lift or move up to 30lbs.
- Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals.

Its main hubs are the Thunder Bay International Airport and the Sioux Lookout Airport, however, it also offers a charter and cargo service from a base in Red Lake and Pickle Lake. In 2003, Wasaya Airways bought the rights to serve remote First Nations communities from Bearskin Airlines.
