Role Description and key responsibilities
Prepare, review, and submit a wide range of immigration applications, including:
• Temporary residence: visitor visas, work permits, study permits, temporary resident permits (TRPs), etc.
• Permanent residence: skilled worker programs, family sponsorships, humanitarian and compassionate grounds, etc.
• Citizenship applications
• Responses to Ministerial Danger Opinions
• Drafting legal opinions
Draft legal proceedings and represent clients before the following tribunals:
• Immigration Division and Immigration Appeal Division
• Refugee Protection Division
• Federal Court
• Federal Court of Appeal
Conduct client consultations and manage client relationships
Monitor legislative, procedural, and program changes at the federal and Quebec levels and prepare internal legal updates accordingly
Contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of the firm’s internal knowledge management tools
Qualifications
Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar (members of Ontario Bar will be considered)
1–3 years of experience in a similar role (preferred)
Bilingual in French and English (mandatory)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
Knowledge of a third language (considered an asset)
Interest in criminal law (considered an asset)
