WEST GATE SOCIAL - FRONT OF HOUSE SHIFT LEAD
SAMRU operates two dynamic food and beverage spaces in Wyckham House:
● West Gate Social – a vibrant counter-service lounge and social hub.
● West Gate Perks – a cozy new coffee kiosk.
We are seeking motivated and passionate Shift Leads to support the Counter Service Staff working front of house in West Gate Social. Compensation begins at $16.50/h plus tips.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support a team of part-time staff, ensuring smooth service and a positive work environment.
- Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, handling customer concerns effectively.
- Take customer food and drink orders accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and adhere to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Collaborate with the team for smooth operations.
- Handle cash and electronic transactions responsibly.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines as outlined by the AGLC.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in the food and beverage industry.
- Supervisory experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer service-oriented with a friendly and approachable attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented and committed to cleanliness.
- ProServe and ProTect certification or willingness to obtain.
AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
West Gate Social’s regular operation hours are 11:00am to 9:00pm Monday to
Thursday and 11:00am to 7:00pm Friday with occasional evenings and weekends for special events. This is a seasonal position starting in August 2025 and ending April 30th, 2026.
