Standard Aero is one of the largest independent aviation service providers in the world providing maintenance, repair and overhaul (“MRO”) services to commercial, business and military aviation markets.

Our Finance department is located in Winnipeg, Canada where the accounting function is performed centrally for our facilities in North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. This position is newly located in our Winnipeg office and is newly reporting into Corporate Finance. Generating over $3.0 billion in sales, the successful candidate will be exposed to accounting and operations on a global scale and will be given the unique opportunity to build the knowledge and expertise of a fast paced cutting edge industry.

Duties And Responsibilities Will Include

  • Perform professional accounting work in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Preparation of monthly journal entries.
  • Reconciliation and analysis of general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Participate in interim and year-end audit activities providing support and guidance as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of various internal and external reporting requirements including quarterly working papers and financial statement disclosure.
  • Interact with and advise various functional groups and remote locations.
  • Promote teamwork, cooperation and effective communication within the finance department.

Requirements Position Requirements:

  • Holds (or is actively pursuing) a recognized professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA, or CPA). Individuals with an equivalent mix of experience and education will also be considered.
  • Strong attention to detail with interest in process improvement.
  • Ability to work independently - multitasking and prioritizing responsibilities in order to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Office with a strong understanding of Excel.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle an asset.
