The Communications and Technology Services Bureau (CTSB) is comprised of more than 1,000 dedicated uniform and civilian professionals who possess a wide variety of backgrounds, expertise, and technical skills. this, CTSB members have risen to the occasion and will continue to surpass expectations in meeting the needs of a diverse, geographically deployed OPP workforce.
The CTSB CPIC units provide important CPIC services to the OPP and other Ontario police services. The CPIC Unit provides CPIC messaging and CPIC entry maintenance for OPP detachments province-wide, and provide support to PCC communicators and field member inquiries.

About the job
The CTSB CPIC units provide important CPIC services to the OPP and other Ontario police services. The CPIC Unit provides CPIC messaging and CPIC entry maintenance for OPP detachments province-wide, and provide support to PCC communicators and field member inquiries.
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
- Ability to pass an OPP background/ security investigation.
- Ability to work shift work on a 24/7 rotational shift basis.
Data Entry:
- Receive and process confidential documents related to property, vehicles and individuals
- Create and update entries in secure systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards
- Use general office software and specialized tools to cross-reference and retrieve data
- Maintain hard copy documentation and perform monthly validations and purges.
Problem Solving, Judgment & Accuracy:
You'll play a key role in ensuring the integrity of police data by identifying and correcting errors, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining high standards of accuracy. You'll:
- Review and verify data against court and police records.
- Follow up with officers or court staff to clarify unclear or missing information.
- Prioritize tasks and interpret procedures when guidance is unavailable.
- Ensure compliance with national and provincial error rate standards (=2%).
Communication & Collaboration:
- Respond to inquiries from authorized personnel and agencies, ensuring secure and appropriate information sharing.
- Liaise with court personnel, officers and other agencies to clarify or obtain information.
- Use clear, professional written communication for narrative message and confirmations.
- Support team success by training new CPIC Operators and verifying peer data entries.
