We are a dynamic and growing company in the Oil & Gas Industry, known for our strong team culture and commitment to excellence. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Administrator / Accounting Clerk to join our accounting department.
SUMMARY
The successful candidate will be responsible for administering the full-cycle payroll process in ADP and providing support to the accounting department. This dual role is ideal for someone with strong payroll experience and a keen interest in general accounting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Payroll Administration:
- Process semi-monthly payroll for hourly and salaried employees in a timely and accurate manner in ADP.
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll regulations
- Maintain employee payroll records including new hires, terminations, benefits, and deductions.
- Prepare ROEs, T4s, and year-end payroll summaries.
- Administer employee benefits and respond to payroll-related inquiries.
- Prepaid monthly payroll entry and related accrual entries
- Reconcile payroll-related benefit GL accounts
- Schedule pre-employment tests
- Responsible on all internal / external job postings
Accounting Clerk Duties:
- Prepare and post journal entries as required
- Prepare daily deposit entries
- Cross training on Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable tasks
- Perform various administrative and accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting
- Formal payroll training and certification is required
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience processing payroll in ADP Workforce Now
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience with major ERP Accounting system. Experience with Epicor Kinetic would be an asset
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion is a must
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Wage will be based on the applicant's experience and qualifications.
