Best Brains Scarborough Morningside is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Counselor to join our team for the upcoming camp season.

Key Responsibilities:

Classroom Management:

• Assist in maintaining a positive and organized classroom environment.
• Help students stay focused on their lessons and tasks.
• Encourage and motivate students to participate and engage in class activities.

Support Instruction:

• Aid the Lead Instructor during lessons by providing additional support to students.
• Help clarify instructions and provide one-on-one assistance as needed.
• Facilitate group activities and discussions to enhance learning.

Student Assistance:

• Respond to individual student needs, including academic, personal, and behavioral concerns.
• Assist students with personal needs, such as bathroom breaks, ensuring they return promptly and safely.
• Monitor and support students as they enter and exit the classroom, ensuring safety and order.

Administrative Support:

• Prepare and organize classroom materials and resources.
• Assist with setting up and maintaining technology and equipment used in lessons.
• Record attendance and keep track of student progress and behavior.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or currently pursuing the degree
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children.
• Ontario Teaching Certificate is considered an asset.
• Valid First Aid/CPR certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Skills and abilities to create and develop camp activities and improve current curriculum.

Working Conditions:

• Part-time hours, with flexibility based on class schedules.
• Classroom environment with frequent interactions with students and instructors.
• Occasional physical activity, such as assisting students with mobility or setting up classroom materials.
• Availability to work during the months of July and August on a full-time basis.
