Global Traffic Group, the leader in innovating ways to save lives, make roadways safer, and create smarter, more efficient communities, is seeking a full-time Community Safety Zone/ Equipment Tech Specialis****t to join our team in the Simcoe County region. The successful candidate will assess and support our clients with Community Safety Zones (CSZ), signage, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing automated speed enforcement (ASE) systems. This role involves working with cutting-edge technology to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of traffic monitoring and enforcement equipment.
We are looking for an ambitious and energetic individual who can hit the ground running. While this position requires travelling to different sites, it provides a hybrid model, with work both on-site, in office, on location, and from home as business needs allow.

Responsibilities**:**

Analytics on all CSZs, determining signage needs, placement, and rotation schedule.
-
Install signage based on the requirements and placement in coordination with regulatory standards.
-
Create and maintain zone data folders; map, measure, and establish criteria for CSZs.
-
Coordinate and install ASE equipment.
-
Provide daily support on all equipment, including but not limited to operational hardware.
-
Manage inventory of replacement parts and backup equipment.
-
Ensure all backup equipment is ready and available.
-
Calibration once a year as required by the legislation and guidelines.
-
Provide routine maintenance on all equipment.
-
Maintain and compile equipment maintenance, data analysis, and procurement.
-
Responsible for assisting in installing and coordinating moving the intersection safety cameras (ISD).
-
Monitor the ISDs daily to ensure they are fully operational and address any deficiencies.
-
Help with various related projects.

Other tasks assigned.
Qualifications**:**
-
High school diploma; additional technical certifications or vocational training in electronics or a related field is preferred.

Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing electronic equipment.

Valid drivers license is required.
Technical skills:
-
Proficiency in working with electronic components, sensors, and cameras.
-
Familiarity with networking principles and protocols.
-
Ability to understand and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
-
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities with a keen attention to detail.
-
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with team members and provide clear instructions.

Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and work in a fast-paced environment.

Strong proficiency in using MS Office Suite, Office365 and other technology.

Experience with SharePoint.

Strong evidence of time management skills.
