About the role
The Office of Student Culture and Community Standards is currently seeking two (2) individuals to co-lead the Campus Life Program for the 2025-2026 academic year. Campus Life Lead Student Advisors will have the opportunity to assist in planning, organizing and executing activities and programs within the Campus Life Program.
These positions offer a unique opportunity for current, upper-year UPEI Students to provide support in the planning, organizing and execution of programming to create an exciting and welcoming environment for all UPEI students within the Campus Life Lounge and through all activities conducted by the Campus Life Program.
The Campus Life Lead Advisor will work directly with the Student Culture and Community Standards staff and will be mentored in communications, event planning, event organizing, and other critical skills to successfully run the Campus Life Program in conjunction with all the Campus Life Advisors. We are looking for individuals who have natural leaderships skills, time management, organization and administration skills along with a passion to make student experiences at UPEI better and engaging.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Campus Life Lead Advisor will be responsible for the following duties - some of the tasks will be divided between the two successful candidates:
- Schedule shifts for Campus Life Advisors and assist with other administrative tasks
- Support planning and executing the Campus Life Event Schedule for the academic year
- Support planning and managing the Campus Life Facebook Page and other social media platforms as required
- Support Campus Life Advisors with their events through check-ins and meetings, and assisting them with their concerns
- Lead a team of Campus Life Advisors to ensure their responsibilities and tasks are being fulfilled
- Network with various campus groups to collaborate on events, programming, and other initiatives within the Campus Life Program
- Support and help distribute advertising and promotional material for the Campus Life Program (posters/social media)
- Track and maintain the calendar of events, programming and lounge activities for the Campus Life Program
- Attend scheduled staff meetings with the Office of Student Culture and Community Standards
- Maintain statistical data for various aspects and events during the Campus Life Programming
- Attend and participate in scheduled training sessions
- At the end of the academic year, prepare, collate and submit relevant reports for the Campus Life Program
- Other duties in assisting with the delivery and promotion of the Campus Life Program as they arise throughout the year
- Other related and administrative duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a UPEI Student in 2nd, 3rd or 4th year in good academic standing
- Previous experience as a Campus Life Advisor, a definite asset
- Strong social media skills and demonstrated digital leadership
- Excellent understanding of own interpersonal, listening, and communication skills
- Demonstrates creativity and problem‐solving skills
- Works effectively in a team and independently
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and is dependable
- Knowledge and/or experience incorporating equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) practices, an asset
