Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced  Finishing Superintendent

 for luxury, multi-unit residential construction projects in Toronto, ON. Candidates must have a minimum of 5-years of work experience as a Superintendent in the construction industry. Suitable candidates will have an astute attention to detail and quality, and a strong ability to lead teams. This position will oversee all aspects of interior construction and finishes.

This position is ideal for individuals with strong leadership qualities and experience in luxury construction projects. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Site Superintendent by planning, scheduling, and supervising all aspects of interior construction and finishes on site in accordance with the contract documents, drawings, specifications and colour selection charts
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing the company's health and safety policies and procedures on site
• Prepare look-ahead schedules for interior construction and provide regular schedule status updates to the project team
• Maintain daily logs and progress photos
• Coordinate the work of trade contractors and deliveries from suppliers to ensure that work is completed on time and with high quality standards
• Enforce quality control measures for all trade work and verify that all work complies with trade contract documents, plans, specifications, applicable building codes and regulations
• Evaluate trade contractor progress payment certificates and quotations for changes to the work
• Chair regularly scheduled trade contractor coordination and safety meetings
• Participate in regularly scheduled owner and consultant meetings
• Lead all site reviews and inspections with authorities having jurisdiction bi-weekly
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, trade contractors and all other project stakeholders

Qualifications:

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent
• Minimum five (5) years of work experience as a Finishing Superintendent. Specific experience in luxury construction projects is an asset
• Astute attention to detail and quality in construction
• Must demonstrate a strong ability to lead teams and communicate effectively
• Must demonstrate excellent organizational and record record-keeping skills
• Proficient in the interpretation of construction documents including drawings, specifications, and contracts
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Projects
• Experience with Jonas Premier is an asset
