Junior Accountant to join our team!

Kin’s Farm Market’s success depends on the knowledge, experience, and motivation of the people who work for us. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Junior Accountant will responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. Also performs analyzing, recording transactions effectively and efficiently to be able to finish the financial reporting in a timely manner with accuracy; overviews AP, AR and inventory are recorded and reported properly; assists Great Plains implementation processing; prepare forecast; provides holiday relief and other duties as assigned.

As a Junior Accountant, you will:

  • Meets accounting financial objectives by performing the following activities:

  • Reviewing the stores monthly bank reconciliations.

  • Reconciling stores A/P with inter-com.

  • Responding the stores questions regarding report cards.

  • Maintaining the accuracy of the general ledger information, fixed asset schedule, filing taxes.

  • Preparing, recording month end journal entries, report cards, financial statements, and management reports.

  • Recording year-end adjustments, preparing working papers for year-end audit purpose.

  • Preparing store budget and forecast.

  • Maintaining good records keeping and good filing system.

  • Maintaining licensee records.

  • Supervising team members.

  • Vacation back up for other team members.

  • Other accounting duties as assigned.

  • Helps to check financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; preparing special reports.

  • Participates in maintaining accounting controls by establishing a chart of accounts.

  • Helps other departments in interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.

  • Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls (SOX environment) and other related systems.

  • Assists the Financial Controller in monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and Store P&L preparation.

  • Supports payroll team by calculating the quarterly bonus for Store Managers and Staff.

  • Engages in the implementation process of Great Plains or other ERP project.

  • Participates in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures.

  • Supports the Financial Controller in preparation of auditing process to ensure successful audit results and compliance.

  • Be proactive in providing recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed.

REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in bookkeeping, accounting, administration, or similar role

  • Diploma in Accounting

  • Intermediate computer skills – including Microsoft Office

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and analytical skills

  • Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities

  • Ability to multi-task; work on variety of projects simultaneously

  • Establish credibility at all levels of the organization through communication, knowledge and professional presence
