About the Job

Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional looking for your next challenge?

We’re seeking an Accountant to join our team and play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys both desk work and being connected to operations on the ground.

You’ll work closely with our accounting team and operations staff to input, verify, and analyze detailed financial data. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, your work will contribute to monthly HST filings, Stats Canada reporting, and more. This is a hybrid role based in our Barrie or Owen Sound office, with weekly travel to Barrie, Hanover, and Owen Sound.

Salary range: $70,000 and $75,000, based on qualifications and experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Preparing journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
  • Filing corporate tax and HST/GST remittances.
  • Supporting operations and construction teams with financial analysis.
  • Reconciling sales and ensuring accurate coding and dollar values.
  • Managing fixed assets and monthly depreciation.
  • Reviewing account reconciliations and AP coding for accuracy and compliance.
  • Preparing year-end audit files and supporting audit processes.

Here’s What You Need

  • High school diploma (minimum) + college diploma or university degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a construction or operations-based environment.
  • Strong MS Excel skills.
  • A G-Class driver's license with a clean driving abstract.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for getting the numbers right.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis.
  • Enrolment in a CPA designation program is encouraged (but not required).
