JOB SUMMARY
The Project Coordinator will support the administration, planning, execution, and delivery of various projects that align with AGE’s mission and values. This part-time contract role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated professional who can work independently in a remote setting. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in project coordination and the ability to manage timelines, resources, and communication across departments. Position Type: Contract (12-month term), Part-Time
Location: Remote
Hours: Monday to Friday, 22.5 hours per week
Compensation: Starting at $26.00 CAD/hour, commensurate with experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate project plans, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with relevant departments and stakeholders
- Track progress, monitor milestones, and report regularly on project status
- Ensure all project documentation is complete, up to date, and well-organized
- Schedule and facilitate project meetings, including preparing agendas and recording meeting notes
- Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and external partners to ensure smooth implementation
- Support reporting, grant-related documentation, and data collection activities
- Assist with coordinating special events, workshops, and initiatives related to project outcomes
- Identify and resolve issues or escalate risks to ensure timely project completion
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive organizational and partner information
- Contribute to improving project management processes and documentation standards
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in project coordination or related roles, preferably in a non-profit or community organization
- Completion of a college-level program in project management, administration, social sciences, nonprofit management, or a related field
- Proficiency in digital tools such as Microsoft Office Teams Zoom, and project management software (e.g., Asana, Trello)
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with team members
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with project budgets or grant reporting is an asset
- Previous experience coordinating with volunteers or community partners is an asset
WORKING CONDITIONS
- This is a remote contract position, scheduled for 3 days a week (minimum 22.5 hours weekly)
- Flexible hours may be arranged based on project needs and availability
- Occasional virtual meetings or online events may fall outside typical hours
- Must have access to a reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

About Advanced Gerontological Education Inc.
The AGE is a not-for-profit social enterprise that provides a variety of educational products to complete our mission of "enhancing the care of older adults by learning together."
Founded in 1997 as a cooperative under the name the Continuing Gerontological Education Cooperative (CGEC), after consultation with community stakeholders and supported by the Educational Centre for Aging and Health, the organization became incorporated as a social enterprise under the new name Advanced Gerontological Education (AGE) in May of 2010. Since inception the organization has continually evolved to meet the changing educational needs within the gerontological care community.
The mandate of the AGE is to identify the learning needs of health care and social service workers who care for older adults accessing services offered by the care sector in the Hamilton community and across Canada.
