Assignment Description

Description:

The Project is a multi year project consisting of the subsea inspection of flexible riser connections via divers and/or new subsea equipment fabrication and installation with a dive support vessel. The position will lead the cost management and project controls reporting activities within Suncor’s subsea project team with active participation of all necessary project stakeholders, and ensuring compliance from the planning stages through offshore execution to project closeout.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for implementing and executing cost control activities for the subsea project
  • Responsible to provide the subsea project with cost control services with active participation of all necessary project stakeholders
  • Responsible for monitoring committed and incurred costs, cost flows & analysis and change management process with impact on Estimate at Completion / Forecast at Completion.
  • Responsible for providing project forecast and cost reporting for engineering and construction phases
  • Working with functional counterparts to support overall month-end process per required timelines
  • Manage the project Change Management process
  • Assist in preparation of specific Project Management/Project Controls deliverables, including stewardship packages
  • Support project funding requests
  • Actively involved in the capture, management, incorporation and closure of opportunities, lessons learned and risks from planning through to execution and project closeout
  • Responsible for Project Controls financial closeout activities

Required Skills/Knowledge/Attributes:

  • Post-secondary business background preferred, with a minimum of 10 years cost control / project controls experience with preferred experience in offshore oil & gas scopes
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-functional team environment
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and able to multitask and respond quickly to urgent requests
  • Knowledge of Project Management and Business Performance Measurement (KPIs)
  • Understanding of Corporate Governance, Policies and Procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to manage and motivate external third parties
  • Excellent communication, presentation and reporting skills.
