Powering the Future of Prevention

As PSHSA advances its mission to create safer, healthier workplaces across Ontario, the Director of Advanced Technologies will serve as a pivotal leader in realizing the vision outlined in our 2025–2027 Strategic Plan, Beyond the Horizon. Your Opportunity to Shape What's Next

The Director of Advanced Technologies is a dual-role leader responsible for both driving PSHSA’s digital innovation strategy and overseeing traditional IT operations. This role ensures the organization remains at the forefront of technological advancement while maintaining a secure, reliable, and efficient IT infrastructure. The Director will play a key role in delivering on PSHSA’s 2025–2027 Strategic Plan, “Beyond the Horizon,” by integrating emerging technologies with foundational IT excellence.

How You'll Make an Impact

Strategic Innovation & Digital Transformation

  • Develop and execute a multi-year digital innovation roadmap aligned with PSHSA’s strategic pillars.
  • Design and implement AI-augmented team structures, where digital assistants, automation, and predictive tools that lead and support organizational goals and objectives.
  • Identify and implement emerging technologies (AI, IoT, AR/VR, data analytics) to enhance service delivery and workplace safety outcomes.

IT Leadership

  • Lead and develop IT team members.
  • Oversee all aspects of IT operations, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, and end-user support.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of all IT systems and platforms.
  • Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and procurement processes.

Data & Analytics

  • Lead the development of data infrastructure to support predictive analytics and impact measurement.
  • Promote data governance and evidence-based decision-making across the organization.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with internal teams, government partners, and external vendors to co-create innovative and secure technology solutions.
  • Represent PSHSA in technology and innovation forums.

Team Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of IT professionals, technologists, and digital strategists.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

Your Strengths and Expertise

  • 10+ years of experience in technology leadership, including both IT operations and digital innovation.
  • Proven track record in managing enterprise IT systems, cybersecurity, and infrastructure.
  • Experience leading digital transformation initiatives in health, safety, or public sector environments.
  • Private sector experience is welcomed, particularly where it demonstrates innovation, agility, and the ability to scale technology solutions effectively.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
