Work Schedule: Mondays to Fridays - 8:30 am – 3:00 pm (24 hours per week) / Hybrid : On site ( North York area ) and Virtual

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Exercise Instructor to lead group fitness classes tailored for older adults. The ideal candidate will have a friendly personality and will enjoy having direct contact with all kinds of clients and backgrounds with a passion for promoting wellness in older populations and supporting them in maintaining their quality of life through exercise. The position will require travel within the community to teach exercise classes in a variety of sites across North York.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Design and teach group exercise classes in person or virtual using ZOOM when necessary
  • Complete entries of client’s attendance in Alayacare and Excel
  • Ensures logistics of registration, including completion and filing of registration forms
  • Assist with class setup, including preparing the physical space for the class.
  • Perform administrative duties: responding to phone calls and inquiries about services and programs, maintaining client files and completing check in calls with clients.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Education in a fitness-oriented program or Exercise certificate, Kinesiology, Physiotherapy, or other qualified institution.
  • Experience working with the elderly population, or a group exercise is an asset.
  • Excellent customer service, creative and flexible.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and energetic; able to work independently and within a team.
  • Current CPR/ First Aid Certification.
  • Valid Vulnerable Police Record check completed within last 12 months.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle. You will be reimbursed for travel.
