Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Feedlot Solutions, the Feedlot Technician is responsible for the service and maintenance, programming, emergency response on call repairs and the required product delivery for the Micro Weigh Systems installed at the sites of all Feedlot Technologies customers. The purpose of this position also includes the installation and commissioning of new systems and the training to support these new customers.
We are looking to fill positions in Stettler and Lethbridge.
Responsibilities: Maintain equipment according to a planned preventative maintenance schedule. Conduct ad hoc and emergency maintenance as required. Operate and maintain the delivery equipment in accordance with UFA Standards. Install, support, and provide service of new systems. Conduct operational training for new and current customers. Deliver bagged additives as required to customers. Take on weekend on-call rotation for emergency service calls.
Qualifications: University degree/diploma in Agriculture or a relevant level of field experience. Agricultural background with minimum of 2 years of feedlot cattle experience. Journeyman Experience or livestock management experience would be an asset. Valid Class 5 license, as travel might be required to deliver on sales/service calls. Demonstrated computer and communication skills. Requires a moderate understanding of the agriculture market and business. Excellent customer service/ business development orientation and interpersonal skills. Excellent problem solving, decision making and logical reasoning skills. Ability to work a varied schedule with over nights as business needs dictate it. Excellent organizational skills.
This is a safety sensitive position as it will be on site at UFA facilities and will be using UFA material handling equipment. The successful applicant will be required to pass (negative result) a drug and alcohol screening test as a condition of employment.
