The Product Category Associate 1 will provide routine administrative support for the Product Management Department (PMD). The Product Category Associate 1 will be responsible for keeping track of all products coming into the Company. The Product Category Associate 1 will also be responsible for supporting the division to achieve sales goals while collaborating with PMD team members, and Branch offices. In addition, associates will assist in implementing marketing strategies by preparing proposals, presentations, communication materials, market research, and digital marketing content creation, and support various elements essential for the company's growth.

Essential Job Functions

  • Ensure that each customer, client, and vendor receives outstanding customer service by providing a friendly environment which includes greeting and assisting every customer, maintaining outstanding product knowledge, and all other components of customer service.
  • Responsible for coordination, transfer, and appropriate translation of all technical documentation required to support the Company product line among branches around the world.
  • Maintain document control for specification sheets/ manufacture processing sheets, including storing, verifying obtain and maintaining from makers.
  • Monitor and maintain vendor account management, including, but not limited to, claiming merchandise expenses, invoicing, and payment confirmation.
  • Obtain specification sheet of each product from vendors, and check for leaks and errors of content.
  • Obtain guarantee letter for each product from vendors, check for leaks and errors of content, and submit to customers via the Sales Department
  • Create and report sales performance data to specific vendors
  • Retrieve data from the Business Intelligence (BI) database if necessary.
  • Coordinates the distribution of internal and external marketing literature.
  • Completes sales-related and marketing administrative projects, including running marketing and sales reports and conducting company research.
  • Learn and work with various digital marketing software programs and implement marketing plans that include digital and print content as needed.
  • Assists in writing and editing sales and marketing materials, such as articles, presentations, white papers, and collateral.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Experience/ Training/ Education

  • High School or GED
  • Associate in Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred
  • 1 to 3 years of office or business experience.
  • Experience with MS Office – Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

  • Will be detail-orientated, self-motivated, and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment.
  • Knowledge of general office operation.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Data entry keyboarding skills without error at a moderate rate of speed.
  • Effective communication skills internally and externally via phone, email, and in person.
  • Skills in keyboarding and the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and database management computer software package
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under various time constraints
  • Consistently demonstrates sensitivity, tact, and professionalism when interacting with others.
  • Deal with people in a manner that shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
  • Follows written and/or oral instructions; speaks clearly, concisely, and effectively.
  • Ability to use Oracle ERP systems.
  • Ability to listen and understand information and ideas as presented verbally.
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, meeting deadlines under pressure.
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English and Japanese.
  • Ability to speak clearly, concisely, and effectively.
  • Positive work history and ability to maintain solid attendance.

Working Conditions

Usually works 40 hours a week in an office setting; however, some work shifts may vary or ask to work overtime during busy periods. May spend time in the warehouse to see if products have arrived from vendors. Occasional travel may be required. This could be for meetings with clients, attending industry events, or conducting market research.
