Job Summary
This is an entry-level position.
- The Plant laborer will assist the production operator indirectly/directly in the manufacturing process. Activities include tasks such as unloading bulk raw materials, charging raw materials, preparing packaging and filling containers, housekeeping, and performing other tasks where appropriately trained. Monday-Friday day/afternoon shifts.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain the level of safety and housekeeping in line with management standards*
- Follow all safety and material handling procedures and precautions
- Operation of a forklift for material movements. Training available.
- Follow batch reports and manufacturing instructions with guidance from the production operator.
- Follow special instructions by supervisor/lab
- Packaging and labelling of products as per procedures
- Perform other tasks where appropriately trained
Qualifications/Requirements: ** * Grade 12 diploma or meet the requirements of GATB testing or GED.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English. Basic math skills.
- Mechanical aptitude
- Safe operation of a lift truck.
- Good physical condition, including the ability to lift 50 lb.
- Ability to work in hot and cold conditions.
