Responsibilities
- Responsible for creating and implementing inventory control procedures, managing and maintaining inventory levels to ensure product availability to meet production needs while minimizing inventory costs.
- Responsible for all data processing and PDM control, as well as productivity spreadsheet analysis and various variances reporting.
- Aids the Plant Controller with certain manufacturing cost accounting functions as needed, works closely with Operations personnel, and interacts with all other departments.
- Analyzes inventory levels, production speed and product demand to determine reorder levels which will ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs.
- Forecasts and analyzes needs for parts or product inventory.
- Acts as back-up for the Scheduling Department, including scheduling jobs and working closely with the Plant Manager, Department Managers, Customers and Sales teams.
- Efficiency and productivity reporting-manufacturing and inventory, including detailed Excel spreadsheet analysis of variances.
- Responsible for data processing and work order reconciliation, including proficient knowledge of WebEFF.
- Maintains and records inventory transactions in inventory control system.
- Compares inventory records against physical count of inventory; adjusts or investigates variances and inaccuracies, including reconciling all point-of-use locations.
- Responsible for all resin movement in and out of the plant.
- Enters data from cycle counts, reconciliation of cycle counts, and weekly item report.
- Uses physical counts from the Warehouse Department to reconcile discrepancies.
- Enters data for internal part transfers and some incoming warehouse deliveries. Daily verification of all transactions are required, which will involve verifying the transactions of other employees.
- Reconciles inventory inaccuracies using negative numbers report, no usage / no forecast report, obsolete report, transaction trace history, and BOM audits.
- Assists with coordinating and executing plant-wide physical inventory.
- Verifies daily back-flushing of production totals.
- Prepares manufacturing variance entries for closed work orders once weekly in JDE.
- Creates monthly reports for JDE Obsolescence inventory and Resin Stock status.
- Measures and reports inventory on hold weekly.
- Responsible for new item set-up and bill of material management, including piece usage calculations, mold run rate calculations and loading.
- Responsible for compiling raw material budget usage and dollars for all sales items for the upcoming year.
- Responsible for detailed spreadsheet analysis and tracking of all capital spending, including fixed asset set-up submissions.
- Coordinates communication between facility and Corporate Accounts Payable, maintains on site files.
- Create and maintain item numbers and associated pallet requirements within the palletizing system to ensure proper function within the system.
- All other tasks as assigned by Management.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job, will be considered.
- Experience working with an MRP system.
- Demonstrated knowledge of inventory control and warehouse procedures.
- Proficient in Excel, data analysis, including Solver, Vlookup, Scenario Manager, and Spoolib loading.
- Knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting.
- Strong math, logic and organizational skills.
- Able to effectively communicate ideas (through oral and written presentations).
- Able to work independently with little supervision in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Able to use a variety of computer programs/systems to track results (material databases, Word, Excel, Email, Internet, etc.).
