Total Oilfield Rentals (TOR) offers rental and transportation of drilling, completion and production equipment to the oil and natural gas industry throughout Western Canada and the Northwestern United States. Position Summary
Total Oilfield Rentals is currently looking for a Boom Truck Driver to join our team. Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Boom Truck Driver will be responsible for ensuring safe and timely deliveries and pick ups of material to locations.
This position is a fulltime position and will be based out of our Grande Prairie location.
Time Commitment
Based on Federal hours of service regulations and on call as required. Schedule may be altered at the discretion of management.
Summary of Duties (Duties may include, but are not limited to the following):
- Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of boom truck operations and crane handling
- Proactively perform daily inspections, and report any defects
- Hook up truck and trailer(s) as needed: deck off
- Complete a pre-trip inspection as required by Federal Health OH&S Legislation/ E-Logs
- Ensures safe condition of equipment (chains, boomers, sling, etc.)
- Ensures maintenance of Certificates required for Lifting and Rigging
- Loading, unloading lifting and lowering of equipment as per boom truck operator training
- Must comply with all client and legislative rules as required by the job
- Other related duties as required
Required Competencies
- A valid Class 1 license and acceptable driver’s abstract
- Journeyman Boom Truck ticket
- 3+ years experience in general oilfield hauling
- A commitment to safe work practices
- Ability to pass a pre-employment as well as on-going pre-access drug and alcohol tests
- Strong customer service skills
Working Conditions
- Willing to work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions with heavy equipment.
- Primarily Plant/Refinery/ Drilling and Completion sites
