We import, manufacture, and distribute products across Canada, proudly serving garden centers, retailers, and growers nationwide. Our commitment to customer trust, fast delivery, and product quality is the foundation of our continued success.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and hands-on Warehouse Manager to lead our fast-paced, seasonal, and constantly shifting warehouse operation.
This is not a traditional warehouse role, it demands a professional who is equally comfortable on the forklift as they are building reports in Excel and updating information on our ERP. You'll be expected to balance team leadership, inventory control, process innovation and physical work, all while managing high-pressure timelines and shifting layouts.
What Makes This Role Unique
Our operation follows a highly seasonal cycle, with complex logistics that shift seasonally :
- November–January: Receiving and organizing overseas containers, maxing out warehouse space
- February–March: Massive outbound volume to launch garden center season across Canada
- April–May: Busy with smaller, frequent orders and just-in-time delivery
- June–October: Lower volume but critical for warehouse optimization and container planning
Our warehouse is dynamic and fluid, layouts and product locations change constantly, requiring rapid adaptation and meticulous planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including container unloading, pallet picking, shipping, and receiving
- Lead a hands-on team, operating forklifts and supporting physical work during peak times
- Maintain a dynamic and adaptable warehouse layout that evolves based on stock flow
- Collaborate closely with our Soil Manufacturing Team to coordinate combined orders and toploads
- Manage and control inventory using warehouse tools, ensuring data accuracy and stock rotation
- Develop and implement inventory tracking and warehouse methodologies (LEAN, 5S, real-time monitoring, etc.)
- Analyze order history, product flow, and inbound schedules to improve throughput and space efficiency
- Recruit, train, and supervise full-time and seasonal staff
- Coordinate transportation schedules and ensure all orders meet our mandate: "delivered within the same week they’re ordered, before the weekend"
- Monitor KPIs and warehouse performance metrics, identifying and correcting inefficiencies
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years of warehouse leadership in fast-paced, seasonal, or high-volume environments
- Strong hands-on mentality, must be comfortable operating forklifts and leading by example
- Proven experience in inventory control and space optimization
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, analysis, etc.)
- Knowledge of warehouse organization principles (e.g., FIFO, dynamic slotting, LEAN practices, 5S)
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and team management skills
- Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain one)
- Experience with WMS or inventory software is an asset
Why Join Us?
- Be part of a tight-knit, respected, and proudly Canadian company
- Lead a diverse and hands-on role with clear impact and decision-making power
- Work in an environment where innovation and initiative are recognized and rewarded
- Support a company that garden centers and retailers across the country depend on every season
- Join a business that values trust, agility, and excellence in service
