Summary:

Reporting to the Sr. Finance Manager (Operations Finance), the co-op student will be primarily responsible for performing assigned recurring monthly tasks and refining the existing standard job instructions to ensure they are robust for subsequent university co-op students. This would include but not be restricted to the collection, analysis, and consolidation of financial and cost data. This position will also engage in at least one process improvement project assessing and presenting alternate solutions.

Work Location: Onsite at Oakville Facility - Canada

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and upload monthly journal entries.
  • Standardize journal entry templates.
  • Prepare and upload monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and collect supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and submit monthly and or quarterly business surveys.
  • Update standard job instructions for the recurring duties.
  • Update PowerPoint slide data for various business reviews.
  • Perform and contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks and reports.
  • Support operation analysts to update, monitor and analyze standard costs.
  • Prepare monthly inventory and capital reporting.
  • Construction in process (CIP) management.
  • Automate and mistake-proof various Operations Finance reporting.
  • Impairment process standardization and documentation.
  • Perform projects as assigned.
  • Assist in audit requests as required.

Qualifications:

  • The student must be at least 18 years of age and currently enrolled as an accounting major in a formal university co-op program for the upcoming 2024 academic year. The student must be working towards completing an undergraduate degree and pre-requisites to enter the CPA Professional Education Program and have an interest in pursuing a CPA designation.

  • Must be committed to the entire term (September – December).

  • PC skills: experience using Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, V-Lookups, etc. is an asset.

  • Experience SAP or other large ERP system would also be an asset.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Demonstrates ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

  • Raytheon Core Foundation Competencies including Ethics, Integrity, Values and Trust

  • Please be advised that the successful candidate must meet all requirements under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) & Controlled Goods Directorate (CGD) and be eligible to work in Canada. Securing CGD Clearance, as required by Canadian law, may take 1-2 weeks for Canadian citizens and permanent residents and up to 5 months or longer for international students.

Work Hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week, with unpaid lunch
  • Start and end times are flexible. Common schedule is 8am-4:15pm with 45 min for lunch for a 7.5-hour day.
