About the role
Evolution Wheel is seeking to hire a shop floor team member for general labour and welding work. The successful candidate will work directly with management and is responsible for tire assembly and welding work as well as other duties around the shop and warehouse as needed.
Key Responsibilities Include:
· Assembling tires
· Welding work
· Cleaning and maintaining the shop
· Performing preventative maintenance on equipment
· Managing inventory levels
· Shipping and receiving
· Adhering to all Evolution Wheel Safety standards and policies
The successful candidate should possess the following skills:
· Good written and oral communication skills
· Ability to operate a handheld grinder and other power tools as required
· Must be able to read and interpret production drawings and procedures
· Must be able to be certified as forklift operator and overhead crane operator
· Ability to lift 50 – 70 lbs routinely throughout the day
· Welding or weld prep experience considered an asset
· Ability to work alone and with a team
· Highly motivated and able to achieve goals and tasks determined by management
· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing including 5S and experience will be considered an asset
Additional Job Information
· Employees will be required to provide their own steel toe boots and wear them at all times. All other PPE for this position will be provided by Evolution Wheel.
· A driver’s licence is not a requirement for this position; however, employees will need to arrive at work on time.
