About the role

Position Details:

This position requires a Third Class Power (Operating) Engineers Certificate. This position requires the power engineer to possess a current and valid driver’s license in the province of Ontario (Class G or equivalent).

The schedule is 12-hour rotating shift.

The hourly rate for this role is $42.58/hr.

A Day in the Life:

The position’s primary roles include operating the deodorizer, vacuum system, oil pumping, wastewater, bleaching equipment and dumping minor ingredients as required. The area of responsibility includes operating the GEKA steam generator, the refrigeration for the vacuum system, processing oil through the deodorizer, sampling and some analysis, oil inventory control and bleaching.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Maximizing processing capacities of the deodorizing and bleaching operations, while achieving or exceeding company safety, quality, yield, environmental and operating cost standards.
  • Compliance with any Work Instruction - Operational Procedures.
  • Maintaining the Safe and Efficient use of all equipment, ensuring only the equipment that needs to run is operating and in good order.
  • Maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times.
  • Deodorizing of oil from and to the different tanks as required by the business. Maintenance and operation of the Geka steam generator.
  • Operation and maintenance of the wastewater system.
  • Maintenance and operation of the deodorizer process refrigeration and vacuum systems.
  • Bleaching oils from and to different tank farms as required by the business.
  • Any other oil pumping as required by the business.
  • Controlling oil inventory & distribution.
  • Quality Control & Testing of all above oils.
  • Accurately recording oil tank inventories as instructed.
  • Completing and documenting housekeeping inspections once each shift.
  • Accurately recording all information on the deodorizing, bleaching and oil movement reports each shift and entering accurate data into SAP.
  • Provide written reports on Quality and Operations daily as required.
  • Maintaining a tidy and safe operational work area at all times.
  • Compliance with Bunge’s safety policies and procedures.
  • Must comply with Bunge Safety Policy E-3 Respiratory Equipment.
  • Provide written reports of Operational / Equipment problems and discrepancies to the Supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Experience Requirements:

  • 3rd Class Operating Engineer Certification is required
  • Availability to work varied schedules when required for vacation coverage including days, afternoons, and nights. When not covering for vacation this position is scheduled to work Monday to Friday day shift.
