Lead Caregiver
Location: Nanaimo, BC
Position Type: Part-Time/Full-Time

We’re seeking a reliable and confident Lead Caregiver to support our team by providing on-site introductions for new hires, offering hands-on guidance in clients’ homes, and ensuring the highest standard of individualized care is delivered.
About the Role:
As a Lead Caregiver, you’ll act as a mentor and trainer for newly hired caregivers, accompanying them to their first client visits. You’ll provide an overview of each client’s personalized care plan, demonstrate safe care techniques, and help new staff feel confident and prepared to deliver compassionate, quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accompany new caregivers to initial client visits for introductions and orientation.
- Review client care plans and individualized needs with new staff.
- Provide on-the-job coaching and mentorship, demonstrating best practices in personal care, mobility assistance, and household tasks.
- Ensure new caregivers understand and follow healthcare protocols, safety procedures, and infection control guidelines.
- Communicate any concerns or additional training needs to the office team.
- Assist with client care visits as needed.
Qualifications:
- Health Care Assistant (HCA) certification preferred, or a combination of caregiving experience and healthcare-related training.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, supportive approach to leadership.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and problem-solve in real time.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.
