About the role

Racing Forensics is hiring Veterinary Technicians for equine venipuncture at Assiniboia Downs and other racetracks across Canada.

Shifts at Assiniboia Downs are on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from May 13 – October 8. Shifts start in the afternoon and end in the late evening.

Training will be provided. Excellent compensation.

Duties

· Collect blood samples from horses and/or administer IV medication

· Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

· Ensure chain-of-custody of samples

· Complete official documentation and records

Skills/Experience

  • Registered Veterinary Technician/Animal Health Technologist
  • Experience working with horses
  • Equine phlebotomy an asset
  • Proficient in phlebotomy
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education:

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)

Experience:

  • Technician: 1 year (required)
  • horse: 2 years (preferred)

Work Location: In person

Expected start date: 2025-07-14
