About the role
Community Resource Service is looking for an enthusiastic Fundraising & Development Coordinator to plan, develop and implement a robust fundraising and communications program for our organization.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Fundraising & Development Coordinator will be responsible for the following:
Fund Development:
- Assist with the development and implement an annual fundraising plan
- Cultivate and grow individual and major donors
- Implement agency business sponsorship program
- Operationalize agency fundraising initiatives and events
- Write and coordinate grants with the Executive Director
- Plan and develop new Fundraising initiatives with our Fundraising Committee
- Work with 3rd parties to support their fundraising initiatives and events
- Develop and implement donor stewardship
- Manage donor database on an ongoing basis
- Develop and implement agency fundraising communication plan
- Create fundraising content for all media platforms
- Initiate strategic communications in alignment with fundraising goals
- Generate fundraising and interpretive materials for specific audiences, including appeals, thank you letters, donor communications
- Generate written materials as needed
- Work within the fund development and marketing budget
- Work with local media for advertising, promotion, and news about program areas
- Work with vendors on a regular basis
Qualifications:
- Fund development experience an asset
- Related community college or university degree preferred.
- Experience in non-profit fundraising including the development of individual giving, corporate engagement and event programs
- Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising trends and successful fundraising strategies
- Exceptional written and oral communications skills
- Demonstrated understanding of effective communication and engagement strategies
- Competency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, programs,
- Familiarity and knowledge of donor database programs
- Ability to relate effectively with diverse audiences, including Board members, major donors, foundation staff, media outlets and community audiences
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, problem solve and work as part of a cohesive and collaborative team
- Valid Ontario Drivers license and access to a vehicle
