Position Overview
We are seeking a creative, digitally-savvy Marketing & Digital Content Intern to join our dynamic team at our downtown Toronto office. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of a science-driven health brand through website development, content creation, and digital marketing.
The successful candidate will support a range of functions including web development, Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), social media marketing, video editing, and broader branding campaigns. This is an on-site role designed for a motivated youth who is passionate about health innovation, biotechnology, and creative digital communication.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist with updating and maintaining company websites (Shopify or similar platforms)
· Support Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and SEO implementation strategies
· Edit and produce promotional videos for use on web and social platforms
· Create engaging social media content and support campaign planning and execution
· Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with influencers to promote our brands and products
· Assist in designing marketing assets for both online and offline use (Canva, Adobe Suite, etc.)
· Collaborate with the business and R&D teams to communicate technical ideas clearly to broader audiences
· Contribute to copywriting for blog posts, website content, and press releases
· Perform administrative support as needed for ongoing marketing projects
Requirements
To be eligible for this role, the candidate must meet BioTalent Canada's Science Horizons Youth Internship Program criteria:
· Be aged 30 or under at the beginning of the internship
· Be a graduate of a post-secondary institution (Canadian or International; not limited to STEM programs)
· Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee status in Canada
Qualifications
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
· Experience or strong interest in digital marketing, content creation, or video editing (CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, etc.)
· Strong graphic design sense and familiarity with tools like Canva or Adobe Illustrator
· Social media experience with platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and X (Twitter)
· Working knowledge of website platforms (e.g., WordPress), and basic understanding of HTML/CSS is a plus
· Ability to work independently in a startup environment with a fast pace and flexible tasks
· Mandarin Chinese proficiency is mandatory
