About the role
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for managing vendor relationships through contract clarifications, negotiations, tailoring and change orders. Ensuring master contract templates are controlled and being the key contact for major subcontractors.
The Quality Engineer will drive the effective and timely completion of Supplier raised deviations and concessions through communication (internal and external), action planning, and scheduling. They will monitor, manage and complete Supplier raised concessions through the non-conformance tool.
As a process superuser, standardize processes to improve efficiency and represent ISI in a professional manner.
A strong organizational ethic with high attention to detail is important to control the fluid state of vendor contracts. Numerically astute with strong problem-solving and data analysis skills and visual data management.

Managing vendor relationships through contract clarifications, negotiations, tailoring and change orders.

Raising, controlling, managing and monitoring of concessions and relevant actions for the supplier quality team through the non-conformance tool. Correspondence with the vendor and ISI stakeholders.

Superuser for process improvements within the Supplier Quality Team.

Ensuring master contract templates are controlled.

VFI management and/or verification.

Submittal of documentation via Windchill and reviewing of inbox.

Create and execute Continuous Improvement projects for the Supplier Quality Group.

Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng.) or equivalent,
-
Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or equivalent.

Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, AS 9100 or equivalent Quality Management Systems.
-
Project Management Certificate is an asset.

5+ years of related experience in a manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, oil and gas or ocean technology company.

Experience with QMS software is an asset.

Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks.

Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills.

High attention to detail.

Strong analytical skills.

Excellent organizational skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
